The vintage fashion brand 'Genies Lotus' is named after the products artist and designer Geneva Beaton, who is also known as Genie. Additionally the Lotus flower which has symbolic meaning in eastern cultures like buddhism and hinduism represents purity, resilience and enlightenment. 

In past cultures, these customs and practices were shared as traditional beliefs. And helped shape people's behavior and identity throughout history. Influencing many forms of expression ie the arts, crafts, language, poetry, music and performance to name just a few.

Being conscious of this is important as it is a big part of human history. And the creative development and influence that has naturally evolved our imagination and artistic expression should not be forgotten or erased. 

Meditating on these definitions helps define and create a picture of the brand values we want to communicate aesthetically with our classic designs to help initiate a sensory pleasure and a feeling of transcendence.

Having an understanding of our past can sometimes guide us, providing a way to look forward. And as in the case with our brand's main goal we wanted to rift off the vintage clothing of the past from iconic fashion periods such as the 1930s adding our own eclectic spin, revitalising the style for generations in this new era.

All the products from ‘Geneva’s Lotus’ are first considered, conceptually drawn and designed before the products are handcrafted.
